Reuben Abati responds to allegations involving Nyesom Wike and Lere Olayinka

Veteran journalist and broadcaster Dr. Reuben Abati has fired back at political commentator Lere Olayinka, firmly stating that he never solicited funds from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and will only respond directly if Wike himself chooses to speak.

Abati, known for his sharp political analysis and integrity, made the comments while addressing online accusations made by Olayinka, who alleged that the former presidential spokesperson was demanding money from Wike in exchange for favorable media coverage.

In his words:

“I’m still waiting to hear from Nyesom Wike. If he has anything to say about me, let him say it himself. I will not dignify proxies or social media agents who trade in lies.”

Abati went further to challenge the credibility of the claims, suggesting that Olayinka’s remarks were a deliberate attempt to muddy his name and reputation, especially in the heated political climate surrounding Abuja’s administration.

This public rebuttal has sparked even more reactions on social media, where fans of Abati applauded him for taking the high road, while others speculated on why his name was being dragged into alleged backdoor dealings with government officials.

Moral Lesson:

Let your integrity speak louder than rumors. In an age of online noise and political propaganda, silence and truth are often the most powerful responses. Speak only when it matters — and only to the right person.
